In total, from your first trip to the store to the moment you start enjoying your brand new floors, Jack Laurie Home Floor Designs’ comprehensive process takes about 90 days to complete. This calculates about 4-6 weeks for materials to arrive and about 3-5 days for your in-home installation. While we can’t always guarantee when materials will arrive, we work hard to efficiently expedite other elements of your flooring process, so you don’t have to wait for the new floor your household deserves.

We offer a 2-year installation warranty on all of our flooring and a lifetime warranty on showers we install. And, when there’s a manufacturer defect that’s discovered after installation, contact us and we’ll handle the claim on your behalf.
And, all of our services, from in-home measurements to the final installation, are backed by our Ultimate Confidence Guarantee. This means that if you’re not satisfied with your new floors, no matter the reason – we’ll replace your flooring with a similar product for free if you contact us within 30 days of the initial installation.

In 1950, Ft. Wayne, Indiana, local, Jack Laurie, had a dream to bring one-of-a-kind flooring and unparalleled customer service to his community. So, he began a small operation in his 250-square-foot garage. By the end of that year, he’d already hired his first employee, Jake Carpenter - a sign of the growth that would continue well into the next decade.
Throughout the 1960s, Jack expanded the company’s products to include carpet, sheet vinyl, rubber floors, and other innovative options for the time period. He also purchased a 5,000-square-foot building for the company’s first official storefront. Due to success in the commercial market, Jack officially changed the company name to Jack Laurie Commercial Floors.
In 1970, Jack hired two brothers, Joe and Jim Orth, who became the backbone of our cutting-edge installation services for more than 40 years. Over the next two decades, Jack led the company to new heights. By remaining true to his original commitment to a superior customer experience, he added more employees, products, and services, and eventually opened our second commercial location in Indianapolis in 1993.
By 1995, the company was living up to its locally owned reputation, becoming a family legacy when Jack’s son, John Laurie, became president in 1995.
In 2000, the company celebrated 50 years in business and subsequently won the half-century business award from the governor of Indiana, as well as the Ft. Wayne Chamber of Commerce Large Business of the Year Award. Throughout the early 2000s, awards continued to roll in as the company continued to grow and strive for excellence in customer service. By 2007, we were ready to return to our residential roots and dove headfirst back into the residential flooring market, changing our name for the last time to Jack Laurie Home Floor Designs.
Now, Jack Laurie Home Floor Designs is one of the largest flooring providers in the industry, with several acquisitions, expansions, and locations under our belt. With John now sitting in the CEO’s chair, our reputation for success can still be tied back to his father’s simple dream for a company his community could trust and rely on.
However, our commitment to the community goes well beyond our high-quality products and services. As a locally owned company, we understand our responsibility to support the people that support us. Since 1950, we’ve taken part in countless community initiatives to give back to our neighbors and strengthen the areas we serve.
We sponsor little league baseball and other sports teams as well as facilitate an afterschool nonprofit in Westfield, IN, called Student Impact. We’re also a proud partner of Habitat for Humanity, participating in frequent builds, flooring projects, and the annual Habitat Golf Outing. Over the years, we’ve raised more than $70,000 for the nonprofit to continue addressing the housing crisis in our communities.
